Summary: WSpike walks Xander home, although not to XanderÕs express knowledge.

Spike watched Xander walking home from the latest Scooby meeting. He made sure to keep his distance not wanting the boy to spot him. Spike had taken a keen interest in the boy when he watched him dive head long into a fit with nothing more then a crossbow and minimal knowledge on how to kill the beast.

Someone had to be either very foolish or very brave to do that. After watching Xander for some time Spike was still unable to figure out which one exactly. He found himself attracted to the human as someone he could care for and protect. Since Dru left he was feeling lost and unfocused without the constant feel of being needed. Spike saw Xander as someone who could fill that need; especially with the way he dove head long into things.

Spike watched as Xander entered his house before walking away.
